The fact that a representative of the military regime, guilty of several human rights violations, was allowed to attend the 34th ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR) is just absurd. Meanwhile the Central Bank move to force banks to convert the citizen’s earnings in foreign currency into Myanmar kyats, is another sign of financial weakness. Unfortunately it’s mostly the lower classes that are paying the price of the economical crisis.
