We keep reporting children’s deaths almost everyday now. In Shan State 3 children aged 1, 6 and 8 were killed by a landmine. In Loikaw (Karenni), 3 children (aged 7 to 10 years old), have been killed by artillery fired by regime troops. In Cox’s Bazar, 2 Rohingya children reportedly died due to a massive fire that broke out at camp 5. Meanwhile almost 12 million children in Myanmar missed school for more than 18 months due to Covid and the military coup, according to UNICEF. When the military government reopened schools 3 months ago, only 40-50% of students attended.

According to Chindwin News Agency, the Burmese military is planning a large-scale attack against Resistance members in Sagaing. Last week the military regime imposed an internet shutdown in several townships in the region.

POLITICS, ECONOMY AND OTHER NEWS
• 5 more politicians and pro-democracy activists have been stripped of their Burmese citizenship by the military regime: CRPH member Daw Phyu Phyu Thin, NUG minister Khin Ma Ma Myo, singer Saung Oo Hlaing, presenter Maung Maung Aye and activist Pyi Thit Nyunt Wai. (Source: The Irrawaddy)
• The military Ministry of Immigration and Population will impose new travel restrictions starting Aprile 1st: national registration cards (NRCs) will be required to travel anywhere in the country. The measure seem to target activists and politicians hiding from the the junta.
• Factories in Yangon are planning to close next week, after the military regime announced blackouts that could last up to 24 hours from March 12th to March 18th.
• Gold price rises to 2.01 million kyats (1132 USD) per tical. the official USD/Kyat exchange rate is 1 USD = 1,775 kyats, although the actual exchange rate at local markets is 2,050 kyats.

SAGAING
• Yinmarpin: 4 displaced people were killed by artillery shelling at the Letpantaw Monastery
• Kani: nearly 30 houses have been burned by regime troops in Chaung Ma village

KACHIN STATE
• Mohnyin: Resistance fighters of the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and Mohnyin PDF, raided a Burmese military camp killing 12 soldiers.

SHAN STATE
• Pan Hto Lane village: 3 children, aged 1, 6 and 8, have been killed by landmines. 11 people were injured.

KARENNI (KAYAH) STATE
• Loikaw: the Burmese military fired artillery at Lwe Htwe village, killing 3 children (aged 7 to 10 years old) and injuring 2. The attack was deliberately targeting civilians, as there were no armed clashes in the village.
• Demoso: Resistance fighters claim to have killed around 50 regime soldiers during yesterday’s battle
• Demoso: the Burmese military launched an airstrike (with helicopters bought from Russia) in Shawngdula village

KAREN (KAYIN) STATE
• Duplaya: the Karen Women’s Organization (KWO) honored women who played an important role during the conflict against the military regime.

MANDALAY
• According to The Irrawaddy, over 300 prisoners at Obo Prison are positive to Covid-19, but have been denied any treatment
• Madaya: according to Myanmar Now, Wai Phyo Aung, 26 was arrested and executed on the street by regime soldiers in Gwayt Gyi village.

MAGWAY
• Saw Township: Resistance fighters of the Kyauktaw PDF and CDF killed 7 regime soldiers during an attack

BANGLADESH
• Cox’s Bazar: a massive fire broke out at Rohingya refugee camp no. 5. at least 2 children reportedly died.
