1 civilian was killed and 9 others were injured by an explosion near a bus station on Anawrahta Road in Yangon. Pro-military social media is sharing a letter by an alleged PDF group claiming responsibility for the attack, which many see as suspicious.
Whether the attack was carried out by Resistance groups or by pro-military groups (to blame the anti-coup movement), the attack should be condemned and investigated. Attacks on civilians are vile, and the National Unity Government (NUG) should make sure the Resistance adheres to a certain code of conduct by holding the perpetrators accountable. To dismiss this as junta’s propaganda is disrespectful towards the victims.
