The Burmese regime cut telephone and internet services from 7am to 1 pm in several townships in Sagaing region, including Monywa, Kane, Khin U, Kanbalu, Pale, Yinmarpin, Ye U and Kyunhla. Clashes in Sagaing have been frequent over the last year, and the Resistance is causing major problems to the military regime which lost administrative control in many villages.
CHIN STATE
• Thantlang: the Burmese military burned Johnson Memorial Baptist Church, one of the most important churches in Thantlang
SAGAING
• Taze: around 5,000 civilians have been forced to flee due to arson attacks by the Burmese military in the last 4 days
• Pale: The Irrawaddy reports that 4 Buddhist monks at Mya Thein Tan Monastery have been killed by artillery shelling on May 13th
• Myinmu: regime troops raided Inma and Gone Nyin Seik village, abducting more than 20 people.
• Yinmarpin: regime troops raided and torched Tayawkyin village
KACHIN STATE
• Myitkyina: a military convoy was attacked by the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) on the way to Putao
TANINTHARYI
• Tanintharyi: Myanmar Now reports that 4 men have been found decapitated in Taku village. They were captured by the Burmese military during an assault last week
MON STATE
• Paung: a storm damaged nearly 100 houses in Ahlap village
