After Ma Han Ni Oo, the university student killed in Yangon yesterday, the Burmese military killed another young student, Kyaw Nyi Zin who was shot dead while driving home with her family in Mandalay. Meanwhile in Yangon, 6 youths from Hlaing Thar Yar have been sentenced to death. They were accused by the military of killing a ward official for being a military informant. Hlaing Thar Yar was under martial law.

• Kyaw Nyi Zin, a medical student at Mandalay University, was shot dead by regime soldiers while driving home with her family
• Yawd Serk, chairman of Restoration Council of Shan State (RCSS), met with Min Aung Hlaing during the peace talks proposed by the military regime. While most ethnic armed organizastions refused to participate, the RCSS might be interested in becoming an ally of the military regime to defend its interests in Shan State. The RCSS has been losing ground against the rival Shan State Progress Party (SSPP)
• Shan Journalist Than Soe Aung was reportedly sentenced to 5 years of prison for incitement
• The Burmese military regime threatened Australia to downgrade diplomatic ties, after Canberra replaced the outgoing Ambassador to Myanmar with a charge d’affaires

• 4 displaced people killed by the Burmese military during artillery strikes in Ye-U and Tabayin
• Kani: according to Myanmar Now, the military regime burned at least 7 villages along the Chindwin river this week
KACHIN STATE
• Hpakant: clashes in Gwe Kha Hmaw between the Kachin Independence Army and the Burmese military
KAREN (KAYIN) STATE
• Myawaddy: Myanmar Now reports that 5 regime troops including a deputy commander, have been killed during the battle at the Thay Baw Boe base in which Resistance forces took control of the base. Some of the soldiers who fled the base are said to have crossed the Thai border. Airstrikes were launched by the regime in Lay Kay Kaw
