• According to the Institute for Strategy and Policy (ISP) Myanmar, at least 5646 civilians have been killed since the military coup in February 2021
• According to RFA, “Junta forces brutally murdered nearly three dozen civilians — including members of the Buddhist clergy — over the course of four days in Myanmar’s embattled Sagaing region”
• Mon State’s chief minister Dr. Aye Zan was sentenced to 21 years of prison for alleged corruption.
• The Australian government will replace its ambassador to Myanmar with a lower-ranked representative as it downgrades its diplomatic ties so as not to legitimize the military regime. (Source: The Irrawaddy)
• Soe Soe Zaw, head of Yangon’s General Administration Department and military council’s secretary, was arrested for alleged corruption. He was recently removed from his position.
• Lebanon’s company M1 Group transferred control of telecommunications company Telenor to Shwe Byain Phyu, a conglomerate close to the Burmese military. M1 Groups recently acquired the Norwegian company that left the country following the economic crisis and the worsening political environment that followed the coup.
• The Arakan Army spokesperson Khaing Thukha said peace negotiations with the Burmese military are currently impossible, following other ethnic armed organizations who rejected Min Aung Hlaing’s invitation.
• KBZ bank announced it has removed cash withdrawal limits. Several Myanmar activists are boycotting KBZ for its ties with the military regime

• Kanubalu: Burmese military troops burned houses near Chet Gyi village
SHAN STATE
• Kutkai: the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) attacked a Burmese military convoy from Muse near Hu Naung village
• Pekhon: regime troops burned Sawng Nankhe village
• Tachileik: a group of drug smugglers were arrested. They were linked to drug trafficking from Shan State to Malaysia
• Phaikhun township: regime troops blocked several internally displaced people who were trying to relocate in other areas
KARENNI (KAYAH) STATE
• Demoso: 5 regime troops have been killed in a battle in Myaung
MAGWAY
• Pakkoku: a bomb exploded in a policeman’s house, killing 2 family members
YANGON
• Mayangone: Resistance fighters attacked a recently-built military bunker in Thamine junction
