• The United League of Arakan released a statement of condolences for the death of Rohingya leader Dr. Wakar Uddin. Although it fails short of using the term “Rohingya”, it mentions “efforts to build social harmony between our two communities”.
• Burmese migrant workers in Thailand took part of the May 1st rally in Bangkok, protesting against the military coup in Myanmar.
• According to UNICEF, in Cox’s Bazar (Bangladesh), the first 10,000 Rohingya children will start receiving education based on the national curriculum of their home country Myanmar this month. There are over 400,000 school-aged children living in Cox’s Bazar, where nearly 900,000 Rohingya refugees live in precarious conditions. Over 700,000 Rohingya escaped from Myanmar in 2017, following episodes of extreme violence by the Burmese military.

• Hpa-An: The Border Guard Forces arrested over 100 civilians from 8 villages

• Sittwe: there have been reports of a raid by the Burmese policemen at the Basara camp for internally displaced Rohingya people.
