The military regime imposed an internet shutdown in most townships in Sagaing today. Several townships were already isolated from the internet since October. Many believe that the military is planning to crackdown on Resistance fighters in the region.

POLITICS, ECONOMY AND OTHER NEWS
• Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and ASEAN special envoy to Myanmar, Prak Sokhonn, will visit Myanmar on March 20-23.
• Thailand: Thai Royal police arrested 3 persons on the Thai-Myanmar border, for drug trafficking and money laundering. 40 assault rifles have been seized
• More than 10 independent resistance groups had suspended their activities by 2 March because of increased scrutiny from military intelligence, according to their respective social media sites. These independent groups are not controlled by the National Unity Government (NUG) or the People’s Defence forces (PDFs). The groups who have suspended their activities are: To Comrades, ANTS, Yell Baw, Wings of Urban Revolution, Dogs Fight, Hlu Kya Mal + Di Ka Kyae, MyatNoe Yin Hlu, Mu Ma Nay Ne- Lar Hlu, Naing Chin Yin Hlu, Wal Yin Hlu Naing-Sar Oak Saing, Bees Fundraising Team and the Book Raffle Fundraising Program (Source: Mizzima)

CHIN STATE
• Kanpetlet: 7 regime soldiers killed during clashes with Resistance fighters
• Chungcung: regime troops occupied the Chungcung Bàptist Church, prompting residents to flee

SAGAING
• Myaung: 4 regime soldiers killed by Resistance fighters during a landmine attack
• Myaung: regime soldiers raided Naypigyu village, looting and destroying houses
• Yinmarpin: 1 soldiers killed in Shwe Taung Oo
• Kale: regime soldiers forced internally displaced people to return to their homes, threatening to arrest them as insurgents if they failed to follow orders.

KACHIN STATE
• Putao: heavy clashes between the Kachin Independence Army and regime soldiers in Shang Bawiyang village

KARENNI (KAYAH) STATE
• Demoso: the military regime launched an airstrike and deployed over 500 soldiers in an attempt to gain control of the area.

KAREN (KAYIN) STATE
• Hpa-An: armed robbery at a KBZ bank

MANDALAY
• Myingyan: two military vessels that had landed tanks at the Se Mi Khone port on the Ayeyarwady Rive (Source: Mizzima)
• Kyaukse: Kyaukse District General Administration Office bombed by Resistance fighters
• Amarapura; on Wednesday a man was shot dead by regime soldiers for taking pictures of the arrest of three people who joined the CIvil Disobedience Movement.

MAGWAY
• Saw: 5 regime soldiers killed by Resistance fighters
• Gangaw: the Burmese military forced young men in Taung Khin Yan village to join “security teams”, threatening them to burn their villages if they refused.

BAGO
• Toungoo: 15 regime soldiers killed

COVID DAILY (as reported by the military-controlled Ministry of Health. Real figures are believed to be higher than officially reported)
• 1863 new cases and 4 new deaths
