ASEAN is getting more and more ridiculous with each passing day.
The Office of Cambodia Prime Minister Hun Sen, who is also currently serving as Chairman of ASEAN, announced that the Myanmar junta released Australian Professor Sean Turnell at the request of Hun Sen’s himself. The Burmese junta’s spokesperson Zaw Min Tun denied the news. Hun Sen later had to apologize for his mistake, he claimed to have received the wrong information. Sean Turnell served as an economic advisor to the NLD government, and was arrested one year ago, shortly after the attempted military coup. The fake news ads additional trauma to Sean Turnell and his family. The Burmese military has often used these tactics as a psychological torture.
