Coup leader Min Aung Hlaing suggested during a meeting, that universal conscription is one of the goals of his regime, along with growing the economy and a multi-party democracy. Myanmar’s economy too a deep fall since last year’s military coup, while the political opposition to the military has been targeted by the junta.
The Irrawaddy reports that over 100 people have been arrested by the military regime for posting anti-coup content online last week.
Restrictions on incoming international travellers extended until February 28th.
Major General Than Htut Thein appointed to the anti-corruption commission by the military regime. He’s considered close to coup leader Min Aung Hlaing. The military regime proposed him as Myanmar’s ambassador to Singapore, but Singapore rejected him.
Daw Aung San Suu Kyi (76) missed today’s court hearing due to health reasons. She has already been sentenced to 6 years of prison and is still facing 17 more charges.
China is fortifying its borders with Myanmar and Vietnam with barbered wire and cameras.

CHIN STATE
• Thantlang: regime troops are using drones to attack Resistance fighters

SAGAING
Pale: the number of houses burned by the military regime in Hmawet Ton, surpassed 250, while in Pann village around 200 houses have been torched as well. Over 100 houses have been burned in Ben village, Minkin, just a few days ago.
Kani: Myanmar Now described the recent events in Kin village, where 2 dead bodies have been found floating in the Chindwin River. The victims San Aung (51) and Chan Thar (25), were probably killed by the military regime, while a third person, Kyaw Lin (36) was found alive with signs of torture. Four more civilians are missing, including Aye Soe, Kyaw Lin’s wife. Nang Wai Mar (39), the wife of a Resistance fighters and mother of three children, was killed by a bomb planted in her home by regime soldiers.
Kalay: Yi Yi Khine (42), a striking teacher who joined the Civil Disobedience Movement against the military regime, was shot and killed while riding the motorbike with her child.
Kalay: Resistance fighters launched an attack against regime forces in Hanthawaddy village, killing 2 soldiers.
Nyaung Pin Shay: the alleged leader of the local pYu Saw Htee (a pro-military militia), has been killed by Resistance fighters
Kanbalu: remains of the body of U Maung Nyunt, a villager who was beheaded by regime soldiers in in Mankyikone, found.
Saw Ba Hla Thein, a Karen activists, has been appointed by the National Unity Government as NUG’s representative to Japan

KACHIN STATE
• Hpakant: the Kachin Independence Army with support from the People’s Defense Forces, raided and captured a military base near Jarayang village. 2 soldiers have been reportedly killed.
• Putao: the military regime launched an airstrike on Sumpian village, killing an elderly woman and injuring 3 other civilians.

YANGON
Insein Prison: 149 political prisoners on hunger strike since yesterday.
Covid outbreak at the Asia Optical Lense Factory in Mingaladon. Hundreds of worker reportedly tested positive

TANINTHARYI
• Dawei: Aung Thet Oo (45), a civil engineer who joined the Civil Disobedience Movement against the military regime, has been sentenced to 20 years of prison.

MON STATE
• Bilin: the Burmese military is firing heavy artillery in Papin village.
