With 42 new cases of the Omicron Variant, there are now fears of a fourth wave. Under the military regime, there is very little hope that Myanmar can be prepared for this new wave, and people have to be ready to take care of themselves. In this very unstable era, with conflicts, pandemics, climate change and economic crisis, there is no place for an inept regime that is unwilling and unable to provide any protection to the civilians.

• 42 new cases of Omicron Covid variant have been found in Myanmar. According to the military ministry of health, he new variant was found in returnees from India, Dubai, Malaysia, Thailand
• According to Justice For Myanmar, a Qeshm Fars Air cargo flight from Iran has landed in Myanmar. It’s the second flight landing in Myanmar in the past few weeks. JFM reports that Qeshm Fars Air is sanctioned by the US for its links to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and for transporting weapons to Syria.
• The Irrawaddy reports that the junta reorganized its intelligence department, known as the Office of the Chief of Military Security Affairs (OCMSA), dividing it into an Upper Myanmar Office and a Lower Myanmar Office led by Major General Aung Kyaw Kyaw and Major General Kyaw Kyaw Lwin respectively.

• Theizang, Tedim: nearly 500 civilians have been forced to flee due to clashes between Resistance fighters and regime soldiers. Some houses have been reportedly burned. Resistance fighters claim to have killed 7 regime soldiers.
• Senam, Tonzang Township: clashes involving the Indian Rebel militia Meitei reported by the Chindwin News Agency

• Chan Tha, Ye U: 3 civilians, including a mentally ill person, have been killed by regime soldiers. One body was found burnt
• More than 50 local administrators have resigned following death threats from Resistance groups
• Kyapin Hlah, Ayadaw: Resistance fighters killed 11 regime soldiers in a landmine attack
• Tigyiang: airstrike by the military regime
• Regime soldiers are arresting some people traveling to Monywa to get supplies of food and medicines.

• Namkham: clashes between the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA) and regime soldiers. 5 regime troops killed
• Ta’ang State: the TNLA celebrated its 59th anniversary on Revolution Day

• Hpakant: the military regime launched an airstrike.

• Loikaw: airstrikes by the military regime destroy civilian houses

• Pakkoku: it has been reported that a Pyu Saw Htee member (a pro-regime militia), has been accidentally killed by regime soldiers after failing to stop at a checkpoint
