Everyday we receive news of tortures, murders and civilians being unlawfully charged, arrested and sentenced. The regime is not looking to mediate, it is looking to annihilate the opposition. But the opposition, at the moment, is the vast majority of the country. Meanwhile the international community is either trying to normalize relations with the junta (China, India, Cambodia, Thailand, Japan, UK), or doing nothing at all (the UN). France and the US, can’t even do a relatively small but very impactful action like sanctioning MOGE (Myanmar Oil and Gas Enterprise) to stop financing the regime. 11 months of nothing

• Cherry Htet (30), Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s bodyguard, was sentenced to 3 years of prison for posting on social media “We miss you Amay (mother, as many call DASSK)”
• According to Myanmar Now there is evidence that the military regime is torturing prisoners in Mandalay Palace. “the All Burma Federation of Student Unions (ABFSU) said that it had evidence that three of its members had been tortured by having bamboo sticks thrust inside their rectums.”. • Aung Myo Min, the National Unity Government Minister of human rights, said the evidence of the Christmas Eve massacre in Karenni will be presented to the International Crime Court (ICC) to prosecute the perpetrators. 35 civilians were killed and burned by regime troops of the Light Infantry Battalion 531 and the Light Infantry Division 66
• The regime charged Khit Thit Media’s editors U Tha Lun Zaung Htet and U Kan Zaw
• According to some sources, the flight from Mashhad (Iran) that landed in Naypyidaw on December 30th, was unloaded by military trucks.
• The military regime has allegedly sent a letter to the Karen National Union (KNU) Brigade 1, requesting the Brigade not to offere refuge to Resistance fighters of the People’s Defense Forces (PDF), as it did in Lay Kay Kaw, where clashes between the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA, the armed wing of the KNU) and regime troops have been intense in the past weeks.
• The Norwegian telecommunications operator Telenor, will sell its 51% stake of Wave Money, a popular mobile payment service, to its partner Yoma (Singapore). Wave Money is currently valued 104 million USD. Telenor is also looking to sell its core business and leave Myanmar for good, although its agreement with M1 (Lebanon) for 105 million USD, seems to have been blocked by the military regime. The generals may prefer Telenor to be sold to local companies close to the military.
CHIN STATE
• Thantlang: new fires are destroying civilian houses. Regime troops carried a dozen arson attacks since September
SAGAING
• Salingyi: Resistance fighters attacked a police station. 5 regime soldiers were killed. A civilian died of heart attack and 3 were injured.
• Wetlet: Captain Moe Zaw Latt (38) who also served as a local chairperson for the military regime, was killed by a bomb detonated by Resistance fighters.
• Nyaung Pin Gyitaw, Wetlet: the regime launched an airstrike forcing civilians to flee. There was no fighting at the moment of the attack.
• Monywa: Ko Arkar Phyo, a traditional Burmese dancer, has been tortured to death. He was arrested on New Year’s eve.
• Tigyaing: a 20 year-old civilian killed by regime’s artillery
SHAN STATE
• Clashes between the Kokang Army (MNDAA) and regime troops continue
KARENNI (KAYAH) STATE
• Nearly 150 civilians have been killed since May in Karenni State, according to the Karenni Nationalities Defense Force (KNDF).
• Loikaw: a funeral for Paul Kya Oo, a 20 year-old member of the Resistance was held today
KAREN (KAYIN) STATE
• Myawaddy: clashes reported in Min Letpan and Phlu Gyi. Regime’s artillery landed in Democratic Karen Buddhist Association (DKBA)-controlled areas
• Two fuel tankers belonging to the regime have been destroyed on the Asia highway.
MAGWAY
• Pakkoku: Myo Naing (43), who was arrested in October on suspicion of funding Resistance armed groups, died under custody. The family just came to know his whereabouts few days ago.
YANGON
• Resistance fighters claim to have killed 4 members of the military regime, including a soldier
