Shwegu: Zaw Oo, a striking teacher who joined the Civil Disobedience Movement, was shot dead by the military regime.

•  The verdict on Daw Aung San Suu Kyi’s case on illegal importation of walkie-talkies has been postponed until January 10th. It’s the second delay since December 20th. No reason was given.
•  The military regime acquired a new Ming-class Type 035 submarine from China
•  Thai media report that over 5,000 Burmese refugees crossed the border in recent days while trying to flee the conflict in Karen State
•  The Arakan Army (AA), the The Myanmar National Democratic Alliance Army (MNDA) and the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), released a joint statement condemning the Christmas massacre committed by the junta that killed nearly 40 civilians in Hpruso, Karenni State.
•  Famous actor Paing Takhon, who was arrested in April for his anti-coup activities, has been senteced to 3 years of prison with hard labour.
•  Daw Than Myint Aung, member of the Yangon City Development Committee, sentenced to 3 years of prison.

CHIN STATE
•  Shit M’hmawe, Mindat: 20 year-old Phe Hung was killed and his body brutally chopped by regime soldiers.
•  Wanma Thu, Mindat: regime troops fired at the People’s Hospital

SAGAING
•  Natchaung, Kalay: regime soldiers shot and killed around 20 civilians
•  Kalay: an explosion at the military hospital, killed 7 regime soldiers.

KACHIN STATE
•  Shwegu: Zaw Oo, a striking teacher who joined the Civil Disobedience Movement, was shot dead by the military regime.

KARENNI (KAYAH) STATE
•  According to the Progressive Karenni People’s Force, the regime has killed 187 people since the coup in Karenni

KAREN (KAYIN) STATE
•  Lay Kay Kaw: Maung Akar, a young Resistance fighter, was killed by regime troops as the fighting between the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA)+People’s Defence Forces (PDF) against regime troops continue.

MANDALAY
•  Cahanayethazan: explosion on the third floor of the Mandalay District Court

ARAKAN (RAKHINE) STATE
•  Rakhine State’s chief minister Nyi Pu and municipal minister and Taungup Township MP Min Aung, charged under section 130a of the Penal Code (Offences relating to certain provisions contained in the Constitution and Acts of the Parliament). Nyi Pu has already been sentenced in October to 2 years of prison for violating section 505b

YANGON
•  Bayintnaung: a parcel bomb exploded at the Bayintnaung interrogation center, killing a regime soldier and injuring 2
•  Tamwe: Ko Aung Phone Kyaw, a university student, died during an interrogation by regime soldiers
