As Indian Foreign Minister Harsh Shringla is officially meeting with the Burmese regime, it is clear that neighbouring countries are not going to commit and support the pro-democracy movement any time soon. India, China and Thailand are only looking for stability in border areas and for economic gains. The Tatmadaw is actually a threat to border stability. The current situation in Karen State or the Rohingya crisis can attest to that.
With today’s attack on a police station, Resistance fighters resumed operations in Yangon, after a few weeks of inactivity, probably due to recent crackdowns by the junta who arrested dozens connected to Resistance groups.
Several deaths by torture have been reported today. There is no place for such State violence
