• Regarding the junta’s plan to execute 4 pro-democracy activists, including Ko Jimmy and Phyo Zeya Thaw, Nicholas Koumjian, head of the UN’s Independent Investigative Mechanism for Myanmar, said ‘Imposing a death sentence, or even a period of detention, on the basis of proceedings that do not satisfy the basic requirements of a fair trial may constitute one or more crimes against humanity or war crimes,’.
• U Ye Min Oo, the former Yangon Region finance minister who was ousted in last year’s coup, was given 15 years in prison on five counts of corruption on Monday at a junta court in Naypyitaw Prison. (Source: The Irrawaddy)

• The military arrested Moe Zaw Tun, a lawyer representing ousted Sagaing Chief Minister Dr Myint Naing, on June 20, according to sources close to the detainee. (Source: DVB)
• DVB reports that the military regime has banned civilians from using overpasses in Yangon. Overpasses were built during the NLD administration to improve road safety and since the 2021 military coup have been used by protesters to hang their anti-coup banners.
• Burma and India are likely to soon resume bilateral trade, two years after borders were sealed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, according to the New Indian Express. (Source: DVB)
• DVB reports that the military regime is replacing the rice donated by the Japanese Myanmar International Assistance Organization, with rice of lower quality. The rice is destined to people in need of humanitarian assistance in Myanmar.
• The National Unity Government (NUG), launched NUGPay, its digital payment system using blockchain technology. The system should help Burmese people to bypass the military regime’s restrictions on bank transactions. No further details have been disclosed at the moment.

• Paletwa: two women from an internally displaced people camp, were injured in a landmine explosion

• Wuntho: heavy clashes between Resistance fighters and regime troops in Nankhan village
• Junta soldiers tortured and killed two resistance fighters, both in their 20s, on Sunday at the border of Salingyi and Yinmabin townships in Sagaing Region, according to local residents (Source: The Irrawaddy)
• Chaung U: Resistance fighters attacked a military convoy reportedly killing 26 soldiers
• Salingyi: regime troops burned Moe Kyo Pyin North village. Resistance groups attacked the nearby China’s Wanbao copper project nearby

• Lashio: a soldier and a policeman were shot dead

• Demoso: celebrations for the 147th Karenni National Day were held in Demoso

• Maha Aung Myay: Sgt. Myo Htwe, a military officer who recently arrived from Yangon, was shot dead. Nobody claimed the attacked yet

• Gangaw: two 7-year-old children died in an accidental explosion caused by a granade left by regime troops raided the area.

• Kyawktaw: the Arakan Army detained 3 policemen from the Kyauktaw Myoma police station. The Arakan Army (AA) spokesman U Khaing Thukha recently confirmed that the Arakan Army is arresting members of the Burmese military in retaliation for the regime’s arrest of members of the AA
