• A total of 135 journalists have been arrested in Myanmar since the Feb. 1, 2021, military coup that overthrew civilian rule in that country, according to a local press freedoms group. (Source: RFA)
• The Myanmar military regime’s recent order halting all jade mining in Kachin State was issued with the aim of putting pressure on the Kachin Independence Army (KIA), according to Colonel Naw Bu, the ethnic armed group’s information officer. Myanma Gems Enterprise, a state-owned company under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation, announced in the March 31 issues of the regime’s newspapers that jade mining in Lone Khin, Hpakant, Maw Lu and Maw Han will no longer be allowed. • At a press conference, U Khaing Thukha, spokesperson of the Arakan Army, said tensions with the Burmese military could grow due to the continuous interference by the military regime
• All-inclusive dialogue is needed to address the current situation in Myanmar, the Peace Process Steering Team (PPST) told a press conference on April 4, following the latest meeting of PPST leaders. The PPST, a group representing the 10 ethnic armed group signatories to the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA), said political parties, ethnic armed groups, civil society organisations, the military junta and all other relevant stakeholders should be involved in the dialogue. • Kyaukme: an innocent civilian, U Sai Pi (43), was beaten to death by the military council and robbed of nearly 750,000 kyat

• The Myanmar military set fire to multiple civilian cars travelling along the Asian Highway in Karen State on Monday, according to a spokesperson for a local anti-junta defence force fighting alongside the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) in the area. (Source: Myanmar Now)

• Bagan: 4 regime soldiers reportedly injured during a shootout

ARAKAN (RAKHINE) STATE
• Minbya: An 18-year-old woman from Thingaga village, Minbya Township, jumped from the Rar Maung Bridge on Sunday afternoon and has not been found yet, according to locals. (Source: DMG)

• Sanchaung: Regime’s forces raided a charity clinic at noon Monday in Sanchaung Township, Yangon region. They abducted nine civilians and seized emergency medical equipment.
