POLITICS, ECONOMY AND OTHER NEWS
• Cambodian Foreign Minister and current ASEAN special envoy to Myanmar Prak Sokhonn, held a press conference after his 3-day-visit to Myanmar. His request to meet Daw Aung San Suu Kyi was denied, and he only met with military or pro-military representatives. There has been no progress regarding the ASEAN 5-point consensus, and the military junta is still ignoring requests from its neighbours.
• The Burmese military minister of foreign affairs condemns the United States for considering the Burmese military guilty of genocide against the Rohingya
• Khit Thit Media reports that Min Aung Hlaing fired Hla Soe, Yangon’s prime minister, and ordered the arrest of Aung Than Oo, the minister of economy of Yangon and the Yangon Region Mayor U Bo Htay. All these high-profile arrests (including recently detained Dr Khin Shwe, chairman of Zaykabar Co., Ltd and his son Zay Thiha), are in connection with land permit issues
• Kachin National Congress Party (KNC) Chairman Dr Am Kon La was sentenced to 2 years in prison under Section 505 (a).

CHIN STATE
• Mindat: more than 80 military trucks are approaching Mindat, causing fears of an intensification of the conflict

SAGAING
• Yinmarpin: 8 houses have been burned by the Burmese military in Htan Taw Gyi village. Over 10,000 civilians have been forced to flee by military raids in Yinmarpin township. Over 30 men have been abducted by the military on Monday.
• Minkin: fighting between Resistance fighters and regime troops. 15 regime troops and 2 Resistance fighters were reportedly killed.
• Ye-U: regime troops fired artillery shells into Htan Bae Hla village, killing an 8-year-old child

KACHIN STATE
• Indawgyi: fighting between the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and regime troops broke out. The Burmese army fired heavy artillery towards KIA’s headquarters in Laiza, but it exploded on the Chinese side of the border
• Putao: over 300 people who fled from their homes due to conflict, returned back to their homes after more than 2 months.

KAREN (KAYIN) STATE
• Kawkareik: more than 12,000 civilians forced o flee, according to the Karen National Union (KNU)

AYEYARWADY
• Nyaung Tone: the bodies of a 25-year-old woman and three-year-old girl were discovered. The woman seems to have been raped.

COVID DAILY (as reported by the military-controlled Ministry of Health. Real figures are believed to be higher than officially reported)
• 227 new cases and 2 new deaths
