• Bo Thanmani, leader of the Yinmabin People’s Defense Force (YMB-PDF), says members of his group have committed murder and other war crimes. According to the Union Defense & Liberation Alliance (UDLA), the YMB is guilty of robbing, abducting, torturing and killing. Despite acknowledging these crimes, Bo Thanmani denies to have ordered them.
• Ko Than Htike Aung, editor for Mizzima, was sentenced to 2 years of prison
• After the military junta honored U Tilawka Bhivamsa with the the Abhidhajamahāraṭṭhaguru title, prominent monk Sitagu Sayadaw praised general Min Aung Hlaing referring to him as a great and generous leader. U Tilawka Bhivamsa is the former chairman of the Ma Ba Tha, an ultra-nationalist group that became famous for leading an anti-muslim campaign that contributed to the 2017 violence against the Rohingyas, which many, including the United States, determined to be a genocide.
• Mizzima reports that the military regime is pressuring business owners in Mandalay to take part in in the Water festival (The Burmese New Year) celebrations
• The All Burma Federation of Student Unions (ABFSU) confirmed that three of their Mandalay-based members were charged last Friday by the junta with violating Myanmar’s counterterrorism law. ABFSU chair Aung Pyae Sone Phyo said that the activists had been helping families of detained students send care packages to their loved ones in prison. They were formally accused on March 18 of violating Section 50j of the counterterrorism law for funding “terrorist” organisations. The charge carries a maximum sentence of life in prison. • Cyclone Asani, seems to not be a cyclone after all. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has downgraded its alert. Heavy rains hit some regions of Myanmar in the past couple of days, causing floods.
• Dr Khin Shwe, chairman of Zaykabar Co., Ltd and his son Zay Thiha have been arrested by the military regime for the demolition of two ancient buildings on a land owned by the Ministry of Defense. Khin Shwe is close to Thura Shwe Mann, a former general turned into a politician. Khin Shwe’s daughter is married to Shwe Mann’s son.
• Maung Tun Aung Kyaw (15), chairman of the Basic Education Students’ Union has been sentenced to 7 years of prison for joining the pro-democracy movement

SAGAING
• Yinmarpin: several houses have been burned by regime troops in Kyesatkya village and Se Htantawgyi village

SHAN STATE
• Nan Khaung Bum: fighting between the Kachin Independence Army (KIA) and regime troops

KARENNI (KAYAH) STATE
• Hpruso: clashes between Resistance fighters and regime troops

KAREN (KAYIN) STATE
• Kawkareik, Dooplaya: fighting between the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and regime troops are causing civilians to flee. Maung Htet Lin Sit Naing , a medical doctor who joined the Resistance, was killed in action.

YANGON
• Ko Thant Zin Aung, the chairperson of the Arr Man charity, was shot in his head and leg during a military raid at the monastery

MON STATE
• Ye: charity worker Ko Aung Khant Hein died under military custody after being shot by regime soldiers two days ago
