The Burmese regime sentenced several youths to death or life in prison without a fair trial today

The military regime has been looking to reopen the country to international tourism for quite some time now. It surely wants to show that things are “back to normal”, even though they are far from being normal. It is not clear which tourists will be allowed, but tourists will surely be allowed to travel only in designated destinations. In Myanmar this has been the norm for years, even before the latest military coup. One notable example is Mrauk-U (Arakan-Rakhine State), a city with huge tourism potential, but in which tourists were often not allowed to travel due to conflict.
