The Burmese military keeps using brutal and inhumane tactics against civilians, especially in Sagaing region. Dozens of people have been killed, some have been burned, including 2 children (4 and 9 years-old) killed by artillery shelling in Yinmarpin township and 2 teenagers (17 and 10) killed in Shan State.
POLITICS, ECONOMY AND OTHER NEWS
• According to the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), 873,000 civilians are currently displaced in Myanmar, of whom 502,000 have been displaced after the 2021 military coup
• Six Russian-made SU-30SME fighter jets, which were purchased by the terrorist army in 2018 for US $ 204 million, will arrive in Naypyidaw in the coming days. (Source: Khit Thit Media)
• The US State Department awarded Ei Thinzar Maung, the National Unity Government’s deputy minister for women, youth and children affairs, with the International Women of Courage (IWOC) award.
• Thai Ambassador to Myanmar Suphatra Srimaitreephithak, who completed her mandate, met coup leader Min Aung Hlaing.
SAGAING
• Khin U: 11 Resistance fighters and 3 civilians have been killed by regime soldiers in Thein Taw village during a raid. The bodies of the victims were left in a field just outside the village
• Chaung-U: a Pyu Saw Htee group (a pro-military militia) led by Ma Ba Tha monks (pro-military nationalist monks), was attacked by Resistance fighters in Kan Gyi Kone village. 10 Pyu Saw Htee members have been reportedly killed
• Yinmarpin: the military regime fired artillery in Kantha-Letpantaw village, killing at least 8 villagers, including children (4 and 9 years-old). The bodies of the victims were burned by the troops
KACHIN STATE
• Mogaung Township: a military convoy was attacked and a soldier was killed
SHAN STATE
• Moebye: 2 teenagers, Maung Tha Augustine (17) and Maungg Lazarushave (10), have been abducted and then killed by regime soldiers in Puai Kyun.
• Ywa Ngan: the regime police arrested Sai Wunna, the former National League for Democracy (NLD) MP for Ywar Ngan Township
Namsan the regime police arrested Than Soe Aung, a former freelance journalist
KAREN (KAYIN) STATE
• Lay Kay Kaw: fighting resumed in the area with airstrikes launched by the military regime
MANDALAY
• Myit Nge: The military regime forced more than 2,000 families (mostly railway workers) to relocate. Their houses will be demolished.
MAGWAY
• Yesagyo: regime soldiers shot and killed two suspects hiding in Phaungdaw Oo Pagoda. One was a police officer who was killed despite identifying himself as a member of the police
BAGO
• Pyay: more than 400 families have been ordered to demolish their own houses, who have been considered as occupying road boundaries by authorities of the military regime
YANGON
• Mayangone: the Brave Bar, owned by crony U Soe Hlaing, was bombed by Resistance fighters
MON STATE
• Kyaik: a military vehicle was attacked on the Yangon-Mawlamyine road
