Hakha, Chin State: a military convoy arrived in the city

The military regime keeps attacking civilians in areas where there are no military targets. This obviously constitutes one of the many war crimes that the Tatmadaw has been committing regularly for decades. As a result, 2 children were killed yesterday in Karen State, when regime soldiers bombed a village in Mutraw. In Chin State a man with mental disability was shot dead and then dumped in a creek. A 60-year-old man was killed during an attack on an IDP (Internally Displaced People) camp. This is senseless violence.
Unverified rumours are circulating on Burmese social media about a possible week-long national blackout (12th to 18th March) due to grid maintenance. The military regime is struggling to produce enough electricity due to poor infrastructure and financial problems. Many Burmese people stopped paying the electricity bills after the military coup as part of the Civil Disobedience Movement (and due to the economic crisis as well), and the gas price is soaring. Although temporary blackouts in Myanmar are very common even in big cities, in the past few months blackouts increased in frequency and length, up to more than 12 hours in certain areas. These blackouts are accompanied by internet shutdowns in several regions were the Burmese military is fighting against the Resistance.
