On the 75th Union Day, the military regime tried to project a false sense of normalcy. Since most Myanmar people decided to boycott the military by not following today’s “celebrations”, we will ignore them too.
Today the military cut mobile internet connections off in many areas. Mobile internet is by far the most common way to access the web in Myanmar, as fiber internet is a luxury for Burmese people. It is not clear if the regime wanted to disrupt anti-coup activities, or if they wanted to force people to watch TV, where basically only State-controlled channels are available right now.

Meanwhile the number of new Covid cases has been growing everyday, with thousands of infections surely going undetected. Omicron is likely the most common variant.

Tomorrow (today in Myanmar) is General Aung San’s birthday. He’s considered a national hero, and the father of the Nation by most people in Myanmar.
