• Myanmar junta fines election officials for alleged fraud over 2020 poll. A junta court fined 12 election sub-commissioners from the Shan State capital Taunggyi 10,000 kyats each under the broadly-defined Section 130(a) of the Penal Code. (Source: The Irrawaddy).
• Telenor’s sale of its Myanmar subsidiary will be completed by February 15, according to a source with knowledge of the deal. The junta “privately” approved the sale of Telenor’s operation in Myanmar to Lebanese M1 Group and Shwe Byain Phyu, a Burmese company close to the military. (Source: Myanmar Now)
• According to the UNESCO, 146 journalists have been arrested and 3 have been killed by the military regime since the coup.
• Military spokesperson Zaw Min Tun announced that the junta has plans to launch its own cryptocurrency. It appears that the generals are trying to emulate the National Unity Government, that recently announced it would accept payments made with digital currency. It is not clear how the junta’s plan would fit with the cybersecurity law, which was rumoured to ban cryptocurrencies.
• According to Mizzima, 16 civil society groups, are calling for justice for U Myint San, a pro-democracy activist who was killed by a guerrilla group that mistakenly thought he was part of the Pyu Saw Htee (pro-military militia).

CHIN STATE
• Matupi: at least 7 regime soldiers have been reportedly killed by Resistance fighters during an attack on a military convoy

SAGAING
• Wetlet: six villagers have been tied and burned alive by regime soldiers in Thit Sein Gyi village
Pale: 2 regime soldiers reportedly killed in a landmine attack
• Nyaung Pin Wun: 4 civilians who had been abducted and use as guides by the military regime, have been found daed with signs of torture

KACHIN STATE
• Hpakant: fighting between the Kachin Independence Army/People’s Defence Forces and the Light Infantry Division 33 of the military regime intensified in Manaw Hmaw.

KARENNI (KAYAH) STATE
• Loikaw: Vice Senior General Soe Win, the military’s no. 2, visited his troops.
• Demoso: the military regime fired heavy artillery injuring 5 civilians

KAREN (KAYIN) STATE
• Thaton: 5 regime soldiers killed during an attack by the Karen National Liberation Army (KNLA) and Resistance fighters

MAGWAY
• Saw: Resistance fighters attacked military posts, setting seven buildings on fire
• Pauk: a police station was set on fire by Resistance fighters

YANGON
• Insein: Ko Thurin Kyaw, founder of Media Top 4 was beaten by the military while covering a pro-regime rally and has been arrested one day later.
• Kharan: 3 policemen and 2 soldiers have been killed by a bomb at the Zwe Ton military base.
• Mingaladon: Resistance fighters launched 3 grenades at the Air Force Base
