Cambodian PM Hun Sen landed in Myanmar, clearly ignoring the will of the people. Despite his claims, it is clear that his real intentions are not to resolve the crisis, especially as he fails to acknowledge the will and the suffering of Myanmar people and their strong resistance to the military coup.
The military ministry of foreign affairs released a statement on today’s meeting, citing that a 5-months ceasefire with ethnic armed groups declared by the military regime, is extended until the end of 2022. The hypocrisy of the statement is highlighted by the many reports of clashes that took place today in Chin State, Karenni State, Sagaing, Shan State and Thanintaryi with several civilians murdered by regime soldiers. Kachin and KarenState, home of powerful ethnic armed organizations, have seen several clashes against the regime in recent months, including airstrikes.
