MYANMAR NEWS: 29th NOVEMBER 2021 (eng+ita)

It’s been 300 days since the coup. The regime failed to take control of the country, and the Resistance is showing tremendous willpower. One example is Sagaing, where Resistance groups keep fighting despite the airstrikes.

POLITICS, ECONOMY AND OTHER NEWS
•       Captain Zin Yaw who joined the Civil Disobedience movement, says that some of the Tatmadaw soldiers who were recently released by the Arakan Army, are currently held in interrogation centers or under arrest. The soldiers were released after a visit by the Japan’s special envoy to Myanmar, Yohei Sasakawa who helped easing tensions between the Arakan Army and the Burmese regime.

CHIN STATE
•       Mindat: a father and a 3 year-old son got injured by a landmine planted by regime soldiers on the Mindat-Matupi road
•      Kanpetlet: Resistance fighters killed 3 regime soldiers

SAGAING
•       Depayin: Resistance groups claim to have killed around 50 regime soldiers yesterday, despite the airstrikes launched by the regime that killed over 20 people.
•       Tamu: 2 regime soldiers killed by Resistance fighters
•       Wetlet: Resistance fighters attacked a military convoy of 11 vehicles. Number of casualties unknown.

SHAN STATE
•       Hsipaw: according to the Shan Human Rights Foundation (SHRF), the military-linked Ngwe Yee Pa Le Group of Companies, is planning to restart large-scale coal mining. Locals warn that the project could damage the environment and have a negative impact on agriculture on the residents.

KACHIN STATE
•       Mohnyin: according to the Kachin Independence Army (KIA), the military regime deployed 2 newly acquired fighter jets from Russia.
•       Moemauk: regime soldiers of the Light Infantry Battalion 437 fired artillery shells damaging several houses, a church and a camp for internally displaced people, after the Kachin Independence Army and Resistance groups successfully attacked two military vehicles, killing at least 7 regime soldiers.

MANDALAY
•       The Monywa People’s Defense Forces temporarily shut the Mandalay-Myinmu Road, where some civilians were involved in landmines explosions.
•       Pyigyitagon : four regime soldiers injured during an attack by Resistance fighters

MAGWAY
•       Taungdwingyi: the Burmese army is instructing local administrators to recruit civilians to fight for the regime.
•       Gangaw: The Chindwin reports that “on November 27, Myanmar junta soldiers reportedly arrested 18 villagers from Mauk Lin village in Gangaw township, killed 6 people, burned 4 bodies to ashes, and dumped 2 bodies with handcuffed behind into pit-latrine”.

COVID DAILY (as reported by the military-controlled Ministry of Health. Real figures are believed to be higher than officially reported)
•       370 new cases and 9 new deaths
