Yesterday was the 7th Anniversary of the Tatmadaw attack on a Kachin Independence Army (KIA) military academy in Laiza. In 2014, the Light Infantry Battalion 390 fired the 105mm artillery shells killing 23 young cadets who were training far from battle fields. The cadets were from differents EAOs, including the KIA, the Arakan Army (AA), the Ta’ang National Liberation Army (TNLA), the Chin National Front (CNF) and the All Burma Students’ Democratic Front (ABSDF).
The cowardly attack came during negotiations of a nationwide ceasefire, and is a symbol of the hypocrisy of the Tatmadaw, that is never really seeking peace and stability. It’s seeking conflict to justify its power, and to keep profiting from it.
The Burmese Army cannot be trusted, and should never be involved in politics.

Meanwhile in Magway, Resistance fighters of the People’s Defence Force, have been welcomed by locals with flowers, a custom once reserved for Tatmadaw soldiers.
Hopefully PDF and Ethnic Armed Groups will totally replace the Tatmadaw as the only force who can serve the people.

Despite arresting nearly 60 Resistance fighters in Yangon, the regime is still facing attacks by PDF and Urban Guerilla groups in the economic capital.
