The military regime plans to destroy around 1.000 squatter settlements in Hlaing Thar Yar tomorrow. These families have been given an incredibly short notice of few days and have been given no alternatives. To evict vulnerable people in the middle of a deep economic crisis and a Covid pandemic which is far from over, turning them into homeless people almost overnight, is such an inhumane and criminal act.
Meanwhile in Taal village, Chin State, the military regime burnt several houses. According to what a defector told Chin HUman Rights Organization, these acts can only be authorized at Tactical Command level at the lowest. These atrocities have been therefore planned and can surely be considered as war crimes and crimes against humanity.
